Project Manager – Civil Infrastructure
📍 Calgary, AB | $120,000–$140,000/year + Bonus + RRSP Matching + Full Benefits
🔧 Water/Wastewater & other civil infrastructure | Employee-Owned General Contractor
We’re recruiting on behalf of one of Canada’s most progressive employee-owned general contractors, known for building critical infrastructure that improves lives across Alberta and beyond.
They’re seeking a Project Manager to lead water/wastewater infrastructure projects (and potentially some bridge scopes) with budgets ranging up to $50 million. This is a high-impact opportunity to own projects from pre-construction through close-out while being part of a collaborative team that values long-term relationships, technical excellence, and community-building.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Employee-owned culture with meaningful bonus and share programs
- Focus on essential infrastructure projects that make a tangible difference
- Be a true PM with full project responsibility — not just a coordinator or assistant
- Join a national builder with a reputation for collaboration, mentorship, and innovation
- A role designed for a PM who wants to stay in the role, build mastery, and mentor others — not just chase a title
What You’ll Do
- Take full ownership of civil infrastructure projects from kickoff to completion
- Lead project execution, manage financials, schedules, subtrade coordination, and risk
- Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, and site teams
- Collaborate with estimating, field teams, and leadership to deliver top-quality work
- Ensure accurate monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and proactive issue resolution
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Play a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting long-term team development
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in a project management role with a general contractor
- Proven track record managing full project lifecycles — not just supporting a PM
- Experience on civil infrastructure projects, ideally water/wastewater (bridge experience a bonus)
- Comfortable running 2–3 mid-sized projects (sub-$50M) vs. one massive billion-dollar scope
- Strong communication, leadership, and financial oversight skills
- Not looking to jump to Senior PM tomorrow — you enjoy the PM role and want to stay there for a few years
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites when needed
Compensation & Perks
-
Base Salary: $120,000–$140,000/year
-
Bonus: Annual performance-based bonus
-
Ownership: Eligible for employee share program
-
Benefits: Comprehensive employer-paid health, dental, and vision care
-
RRSP: Matching program for long-term financial growth
-

This is your chance to be part of a forward-thinking builder with deep Alberta roots, national reach, and an exceptional employee culture. If you're an experienced PM in civil infrastructure who wants to grow with a people-first builder, let’s talk.
