📍 Calgary, AB | 💰 $120K–$150K base + bonus (if you’re above range but the right fit, we still want to hear from you)

We’re recruiting on behalf of a fully employee-owned general contractor that has built a strong reputation as one of Canada’s premier technical builders. This firm is recognized for its innovative approach, collaborative delivery models, and commitment to building a better future.

This opportunity is more than just another estimating role — it’s a chance to join a company where every employee is also an owner. When the company thrives, so do you. It’s a unique way to grow your career while also building long-term wealth.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Direct financial stake in the company’s success through employee ownership
  • Competitive base salary + annual bonus potential
  • Exceptional employer-paid benefits (health, dental, vision, EAP, HCSA after one year) + RRSP matching
  • Leadership development programs and educational assistance
  • Work on award-winning, collaborative projects across Canada, including IPD & Design-Build models
  • Entrepreneurial, supportive culture where people tend to stay and grow

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Estimator, you’ll be at the heart of collaborative, multi-stakeholder projects, delivering cost certainty and value from concept through to construction start.

  • Develop bid strategies that set the company up for success
  • Prepare and coordinate full-cost estimates for all project phases — with a focus on collaboration and transparency
  • Lead estimating workshops to align costs with project goals
  • Perform detailed material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor take-offs
  • Establish and maintain accurate unit costs, labour rates, escalation, and contingency allowances
  • Solicit competitive bids, negotiate with subcontractors/suppliers, and conduct value-engineering reviews
  • Provide constructability advice during pre-construction and coordinate with operations teams
  • Track estimated vs. actual costs, report variances, and support continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subtrades, consultants, suppliers, and clients

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8 years of estimating experience and 5 years in construction management (large GC experience preferred)
  • Background in ICI, residential, recreation, and healthcare projects (long-term care experience a strong asset)
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
  • Professional designations: CEC (CIQS) required; PQS preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, process discipline, and advanced Excel + cost-estimating software proficiency
  • Confident in presenting complex cost data and influencing decisions
  • Collaborative mindset — experience with IPD or other team-oriented delivery models is an asset
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to thrive under tight deadlines
  • Industry-savvy — understands local construction markets, supply chains, and sector complexities

💡 This is an outstanding opportunity for an Estimator who wants career growth, leadership exposure, and the financial upside of employee ownership.
