Twin Staffing is proud to be partnering with a well-established national general contractor to identify a Project Director to support upcoming Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) projects in the Greater Edmonton region.

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced construction professional who thrives in complex environments and wants to oversee large-scale projects while leading high-performing teams.

The Opportunity

As Project Director, you will provide strategic leadership across the full project lifecycle — from opportunity development and preconstruction through construction execution and close-out. This is not just a delivery role. It is a business leadership position responsible for performance, profitability, client relationships, and team development.

You will oversee major building projects, including those exceeding $100 million in value, while ensuring safety, schedule, financial performance, and client satisfaction are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Preconstruction:

• Support the identification and pursuit of new opportunities
• Lead or support major proposal submissions
• Develop and maintain strong client, consultant, and trade partner relationships
• Oversee contract negotiations and ensure strategic alignment from the outset
• Ensure projects are properly resourced and structured for success

Project Execution:

• Lead project strategy and ensure performance targets are achieved
• Oversee budgeting, cost controls, and profitability
• Ensure safety and environmental standards exceed requirements
• Monitor key metrics, KPIs, and project dashboards
• Maintain visibility on critical project risks and mitigation strategies

Post-Construction:

• Ensure timely deficiency resolution and project close-out
• Lead lessons-learned reviews to drive continuous improvement

Leadership & Talent Development:

• Recruit, mentor, and develop project team members
• Lead performance reviews and succession planning
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment

What We Are Looking For

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• 15+ years of construction experience
• 10+ years in a Project Management or senior leadership role
• Proven experience delivering major ICI projects ($100M+)
• Strong commercial acumen and experience driving profitability
• Experience leading complex bids and joint ventures
• Deep understanding of constructability and continuous improvement practices
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments
• Experience with ERP systems, MS Project, Primavera P6, and digital document management platforms is expected.
