Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead complex construction projects across the Halifax Regional Municipality. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of project delivery—from pre-construction planning through execution and closeout—while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and community stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in commercial, institutional, or mixed-use construction, along with strong leadership, communication, and risk management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans
- Oversee all phases of construction, including pre-construction, procurement, execution, and closeout
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Lead project meetings, progress updates, and reporting
Team & Contractor Coordination
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project coordinators, site supervisors, and junior project managers
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment
Financial & Contract Management
- Manage project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting
- Review and approve contracts, change orders, and invoices
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company standards
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all projects meet quality standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
- Promote and enforce health and safety policies on all job sites
- Conduct regular site visits and audits
Qualifications & Experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably with a general contractor
- Proven experience managing large-scale commercial or institutional projects
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Professional designations such as PMP, P.Eng., or Gold Seal Certification are considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices in Nova Scotia
