Project Manager – Special Projects (ICI Construction)

📍 Calgary, AB

💰 $110,000–$140,000+ Base + Bonus + RRSP Matching + Full Benefits

🏗 Commercial, Institutional & Complex Builds up to $20M

Twin Staffing is partnering with one of Canada’s most progressive, employee-owned general contractors to recruit a Project Manager for their Special Projects group in Calgary.

This is not a typical “small projects” role.

You’ll be leading complex, high-impact builds ranging from $10M–$20M — often fast-moving, technically challenging, and highly visible projects that require strong leadership, creativity, and precision. These builds can include commercial, institutional, and light civil/underground scopes, giving you exposure well beyond standard tenant improvements.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Run your own projects — full ownership from preconstruction through close-out
  • Work on unique, complex builds instead of repetitive TI work
  • Join an employee-owned company with strong bonus and share programs
  • High-trust environment with autonomy and accountability
  • Strong pipeline of work — this team is busy and growing

The Opportunity

As a Project Manager in the Special Projects group, you’ll lead multiple projects or a single larger project at a time, depending on size and complexity.

These are the types of projects where your decision-making, leadership, and ability to think ahead actually matter. You’ll be working closely with field teams, clients, and leadership to deliver projects that require both technical understanding and strong relationship management.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of ICI construction projects up to $20M
  • Manage budgets, schedules, procurement, and overall project performance
  • Oversee projects that may include civil/underground scopes, structural work, and complex phasing
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents to ensure seamless field execution
  • Identify risks early and proactively solve problems before they escalate
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, contracts, and change orders
  • Ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting
  • Support preconstruction efforts including planning, constructability, and value engineering
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a strong team culture

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–10+ years of experience in a Project Management role with a general contractor
  • Proven experience managing commercial or institutional projects from start to finish
  • Experience with projects in the $5M–$20M range (not just small TI work)
  • Comfortable managing projects with multiple scopes, including structural and civil components
  • Strong financial management, scheduling, and contract administration skills
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build strong client relationships
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong ownership mentality
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Compensation & Perks

  • Base Salary: $110,000–$140,000+ (based on experience)
  • Bonus: Annual performance-based bonus
  • Ownership: Employee share program
  • Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • RRSP: Matching program for long-term financial growth
  • Additional: Leadership development, training, and career advancement opportunities

This is a role for a Project Manager who wants to actually run projects—not just support them. You’ll be trusted to lead, make decisions, and deliver meaningful work with a company that values accountability, collaboration, and long-term growth.

If you’re a PM who enjoys variety, complexity, and ownership — this is where you want to be.
