Senior IT Vendor/Asset Management Contractor

On behalf of our Calgary based partner, Twin Staffing is seeking a Senior IT Vendor/Asset Management Contractor to support their mission of delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. This is a long-term engagement (initial 6-month term, with strong potential for extension based on performance and business need), based on-site in Calgary, working closely with the client's IT team to optimize IT asset utilization and vendor management.

Key Objectives:

  1. Software Rationalization – Analyze existing vendors to identify areas for improvement (redundancies, offboarding, swaps, vendor consolidation, and negotiations). Quantify benefits realized from improvements, develop a roadmap to address opportunity areas, and collaboratively execute the plan for the duration of the engagement.
  2. Telecom/Mobility Rationalization – Assess current state to identify areas for improvement (unused services, vendor consolidation, offboarding, swaps, and negotiations). Quantify benefits realized, develop a roadmap, and collaboratively execute the plan for the duration of the engagement.
  3. IT Vendor Management Program Governance Framework – Develop a governance framework including a vendor performance scorecard, central repository updates, and workflows for vendor onboarding, reviews, risk audits, and offboarding. Implement and deploy the framework organization-wide for all new software purchases, in collaboration with teams involved in request management and solutioning.
  4. Strategic Partner Recommendations – Provide vendor consolidation recommendations to strategic partners (e.g., Microsoft and Insight).
  5. IT Asset Inventory & Lifecycle Management – Develop and maintain an accurate IT asset inventory system, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for decision-making. Design and implement processes to track and manage IT asset lifecycles, targeting a reduction in unnecessary costs by 15% within the first year.
  6. Reporting & Strategic Insights – Create comprehensive reports analyzing asset performance, delivering insights that drive strategic IT investment decisions.
  7. Procurement & Deployment Optimization – Streamline procurement and deployment processes, improving efficiency by 20% through automation and process innovation.
  8. Technology Integration Projects – Lead and coordinate at least two large-scale technology implementations annually, integrating new solutions in alignment with organizational goals.

Environment & Resources:

Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, you'll work within a dynamic IT team, utilizing cutting-edge asset management systems to drive measurable impact across the organization.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT asset management, with demonstrated success in optimizing resource allocations.
  • Proficiency in asset management tools and software, such as ServiceNow or Salesforce.
  • Proven analytical abilities to interpret complex data and drive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong understanding of compliance standards and risk management pertaining to IT assets.
